Description

The Litepower 650W serves as a straightforward power solution for everyday computing needs. It incorporates a large 120mm cooling fan that runs at relatively low speeds, ensuring the power supply operates quietly during standard tasks like web browsing or office document processing. By utilizing Active PFC, the unit improves energy efficiency and helps maintain stability, though it is only rated for basic 80 Plus or standard efficiency standards, which may lead to higher energy waste compared to modern Gold or Platinum-rated alternatives.

Connectivity and Compatibility

This non-modular power supply includes a fixed set of cables to cover the essentials: a 24-pin main motherboard connector, one 4+4 pin CPU connector, and two 6+2 pin PCIe connectors. The cables are designed with sufficient length (approximately 550mm for the CPU cable) to accommodate most mid-tower cases, facilitating reasonable cable routing. While it provides the basic connectivity required for a simple system, the non-modular design means all cables must be housed within your PC case at all times, which can create significant clutter and potentially restrict airflow in smaller chassis configurations.

Safety and Reliability Note

The Litepower series includes fundamental industry-grade protections, including Over Voltage (OVP), Over Power (OPP), and Short-Circuit (SCP) protections. While these features guard against basic electrical failures, the internal "group regulated" architecture is an older design methodology. This means the unit may struggle to maintain steady voltage regulation if the load between the +12V rail and the +5V/+3.3V rails is heavily unbalanced—a common occurrence in modern gaming PCs where the GPU puts high, rapid demands on the +12V rail. For your system's longevity, ensure this PSU is only used within its intended entry-level scope
